Terms of Service

Article 1: Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the JLCT Learn Japanese application ("Service") provided by Treasure Planning LLC ("we", "our", "us"). By using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Our Privacy Policy also applies to your use of the Service. By using the Service, you agree to the Privacy Policy.

Article 2: Service Description

The Service is an online Japanese learning platform that provides:

• Japanese learning content (vocabulary, grammar, listening)
• Mock exams for JLCT test preparation
• Matching between certified teachers and students
• Online video call lessons
• Chat functionality for communication
• Learning progress management

Article 3: Eligibility

• The Service is available to users aged 18 years or older.
• Users under 18 must obtain parental consent before using the Service.
• We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone we deem inappropriate.

Article 4: Account

4.1 Registration

Account registration is required to access certain features of the Service. Please provide accurate information during registration.

4.2 Account Management

• You are responsible for managing your account.
• Do not share your password with third parties.
• If you discover unauthorized use, please contact us immediately.

4.3 Account Suspension and Deletion

The Company reserves the right to suspend or delete accounts that violate these Terms.

Users may request account deletion at any time through the in-app settings or by emailing support@jlct-thai.jp. For details on data handling after account deletion, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

Article 5: Payment and Cancellation Policy

5.1 Lesson Fees

• Lesson fees are displayed on each teacher's profile.
• Payments are securely processed through Stripe.
• Full payment is required at the time of booking.

5.3 Cancellation and Refund Policy

• More than 24 hours before lesson: Full refund
• Within 24 hours of lesson: No refund (except for teacher-initiated cancellations)
• Teacher cancellation: Full refund
• Lesson not conducted due to technical issues: Refund or reschedule at our discretion

5.4 Premium Membership

• Premium membership is billed monthly or annually.
• Subscriptions auto-renew; please cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
• No prorated refunds for mid-term cancellations.

Article 6: Teacher Responsibilities

Teachers registered on the Service agree to:

• Provide accurate profile information and qualifications
• Deliver booked lessons
• Interact honestly with students
• Follow our guidelines
• Handle their own tax obligations

Article 7: Prohibited Activities

The following activities are prohibited when using the Service:

• Providing false or misleading information
• Harassment or defamation of other users
• Soliciting direct transactions outside the Service
• Infringing copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights
• Unauthorized use or hacking of the Service
• Distributing malware
• Violating laws or public order
• Interfering with Service operations
• Unauthorized reproduction or distribution of content

Article 8: Intellectual Property

8.1 Service Content

All content within the Service (text, images, audio, software, etc.) is the intellectual property of Treasure Planning LLC or its licensors. Unauthorized reproduction, distribution, or modification is prohibited.

8.2 User Content

Copyright of content posted or submitted by users (profile information, chat messages, reviews, etc.) belongs to the user. However, users grant the Company a non-exclusive license to use and display such content to the extent necessary for operating the Service.

Article 9 (AI Assistant)

The Service includes AI-powered learning support features (AI Assistant).

• AI Assistant responses are for reference only. We do not guarantee their accuracy or completeness.
• Decisions and actions based on AI Assistant responses are the sole responsibility of the user.
• The AI Assistant is a learning support tool, not a substitute for a teacher.
• The Company shall not be liable for any damages arising from AI Assistant output.

Article 10: Disclaimers

• The Service is provided "as is" without any express or implied warranties.
• We do not guarantee that using the Service will result in passing the JLCT exam.
• While we mediate disputes between teachers and students, we do not guarantee resolution.
• We are not liable for service interruptions due to technical issues.
• We are not liable for any indirect or consequential damages suffered by users.

Article 11: Service Changes and Termination

We reserve the right to:

• Modify the Service content and features
• Terminate the Service with prior notice
• Change the pricing structure (existing bookings will not be affected)

Article 12: Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated through in-app notifications or email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

Article 13: Governing Law and Jurisdiction

• These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan.
• Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Matsudo Branch of the Chiba District Court as the court of first instance.
